In this video, Mingyur Rinpoche briefly introduces Dzogchen, distinguishing it from two other well-known Tibetan Buddhist approaches: Mahamudra and Mahamadhyamaka. In his characteristically approachable way, Mingyur Rinpoche draws on a story of his father, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, to help present this profound meditative system.
Mingyur Rinpoche recalls a time as a young boy in which he pretended to meditate in front of his father. In response, his father said: “Actually, there is nothing to meditate on. The view is fake; meditation is fake.”
