After devoting the early part of my career to neuroscience research and then teaching, I turned to brief therapies, mainly using Ericksonian hypnosis and eye movement therapy. Since 2020, I have been working with adults and children to help them achieve their well-being goals, particularly in difficult life situations such as trauma and bereavement (a specialty I trained in at the Université Paris-Saclay). I'm also a corporate trainer in soft skills and a trainer of future therapists. Meditation came into my life some fifteen years ago.

Meditation is life! For twenty years, I've found meditation has helped bring balance, nurture creativity, and deepen my appreciation for life's gifts. My journey spans multiple traditions, beginning as a devoted student of Thich Nhat Hanh and currently pursuing the Order of Interbeing in the Plum Village tradition. I've extensively studied Theravada Buddhism, attending retreats with renowned teachers. In the latest chapter of my practice, I have become a devoted student of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, completing Tergar's rigorous Meditation Teacher Program. As a composer and founder of Our Silent Canvas, I integrate meditation into my creative process. I'm passionate about sharing diverse teachings, blending insights from various traditions to benefit others on their meditation journey.

I’m listed here because of my grandkids. Becoming a grandparent awakened me to the wonderful and mysterious ways that mind and matter form our lived experience, including for the new and energetic members of our family. My love for them heightened my concerns about climate change and global inequality and spurred me to learn about mental health and our inner worlds. I took up meditation, learned about Mingyur Rinpoche, and became his student. I’ve begun to integrate his teachings into life with family and as a financial planner. And I’m thrilled to be able to offer Anytime Anywhere Meditation!

In my family, I was taught that living means functioning — meeting external expectations. From my first beloved theater teacher, Jolanda Rodio, I learned that living means learning — growing as a person and doing whatever you do with love and devotion. I was overjoyed to find the same attitude in Mingyur Rinpoche’s teachings, enriched by an almost unlimited treasure trove of tools that support me in following this path step by step. To share this treasure — that is my wish.

I have been a student in Tergar since 2013. My principal mentor is Tim Olmsted. I first met Tim in 2013, when he was co-teaching with Pema Chödrön at Omega. I tease him, saying "Come for Pema, stay for Tim." His down to earth style and careful listening are qualities I admire and try to emulate. About 10 years ago, I cofounded the DC Tergar Community. I continue there as a practice facilitator, leading 1 to 2 sessions each month. My classmates in the liberal arts left school hoping to save the whales. My colleagues in the businesss school were trying to kill the whales. My path has been to ride the whale.
